Petition against his imprisonment by the Mint officers, which he claims was to prevent him writing a book exposing the corruption of the Mint.||(b) (Mint 19/1/497v-498) [Early 1698.] Holograph draft: 'An Answer to Mr. Chaloner's Petition'. Chaloner's accusations against the Mint were made as part of a conspiracy to get control of the Mint itself and use its equipment for false coining.
